Our cedar roof oil treatments are a favorite of many homeowners on the North Shore and throughout Chicagoland. The oil does two things.

First, it allows the cedar to breathe better which is vital to the health of your wood roof.

Second, it helps your roof withstand the wide spectrum of elements your roof sees in the greater Chicago area.

1.  A detailed inspection of your cedar roof by one of our experienced, certified technicians. They will look for:

• Loose or missing shakes and ridge caps
• Weathered and Damaged Areas
• Holes Caused by animals
• Routine Problem Areas Around Skylights, Flashings, Pipe Jackets, Vents, Etc

2.  Next we nail down loose shingles and replace missing shingles with high quality cedar shake. We replace all bad or missing ridge-caps. Patch all holes and recaulk skylights, flashing, pipe jackets, vents, and more.

3.  We clean all moss, mildew, and algae by thoroughly scrubbing each infected shake.

We don’t ever recommend power washing your roof. It peels back a layer of the shake shortening the life of the roof.

4.  To complete the cedar roof maintenance process we completely blow the roof clean of any debris and treat the entire roof with our industry-leading Chevron shingle oil treatment.

Our treatment penetrates much deeper into the shingle than most offered by competing cedar roof companies.  It actually locks into the fibers of the cedar, greatly helping reduce the weathering process.
